US Imports of FeSi Slumped by 40 Percent in August 2014

According to statistic of Customs, China exported 556,121 tons of silicon metal in Jan.-August, up by 25.51% Y-O-Y. Silicon metal export price was high in August, and export volume was 81000 tons. It was equal with last month.

Si metal prices kept tending upward in September in China. And Si metal price remained firm in late September . Operating rate in Yunnan, Xinjiang, Fujian and Gansu was about 80%,higher than last month.

FeSi Market was Expected to Run Smoothly During National Day Holiday in China

Before National Day, calcium silicon price in China kept low. Calcium silicon market kept steady and consumers were not active in purchasing calcium silicon. Some certain factory in Ningxia stopped functioning.

Metallurgical Si metal price remained firm in the last week of September in China. And Chemical si metal price tended up. Some factories changed capacity to silicon metal.

Si metal price tended steady before National Day in China. Si3303# increased slightly. Now customers had begun to buy silicon metal before China National Day (1st to 7th of October).

In the third ten-day of September, Chinese silicon barium export was weak compared with that in August. The export volume to India decreased obviously to 100 tons more in September from more than 300 tons in August.
