Mining production in Mexico is estimated to have remained flat in 2022, affected in part by the weakening of construction and the steel industry, according to the head of economics think tank IDIC, José Luis de la Cruz.

Mining exports from Peru, particularly copper, gold, tin and zinc, among others – will end 2022 significantly lower than in 2021.

For all of 2022, exports were worth $291.98 billion, a historic high for annual shipments and 26.07% higher than in 2021.

Specifically, the industrial output of manufacturing increased by about 3.1 percent last year, according to the ministry.
