World crude steel production for the 65 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 131 million tonnes (Mt) in November 2014, a 0.1% increase compared to November 2013.

According to the statistics of US International Trade Commission, America imported 16940 mt of silicon metal in October 2014, down by 1.17% M-O-M.

According to statistic of Japan Customs, Japan imported 21770 tons of silicon metal in October, up by 18.4% Y-O-Y. The materials were mainly imported from China with import volume at 21533 tons.
