Ukraine's Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, the country's biggest ferroalloy producer, increased October output sharply to 66,500 metric tons from 28,000 mt produced in October 2013, UkrFa, an association of Ukrainian ferroalloy producers, said Wednesday.

[Ferro-Alloys.com]It is reported that China produced 964.7 thousand tons of silicon manganese in September, increasing by 4.18% from the prior month, but falling by 5.38 % on the basis of 1.01 million tons for the same period of last year

According to the statistic, Chinese calcium carbide production was 2.116 million tons in September 2014, slightly down by 0.61% M-O-M and up by 4.4% Y-O-Y. In Jan-Sep, 2014, total production was 18.416 million tons, up by 10.8% Y-O-Y.

In 3Q14, production of manganese ore reached654,000 t compared to 505,000 t in 2Q14 and621,000 t in 3Q13, due to good operational performance across all mine hubs.

Full-year production guidance for iron ore has been increased to 45 million – 46 million tonnes(previously 44 million – 46 million tonnes).
