The Philippines nickel mining company Nickel Asia Corp. reported a 25% increase in its neciel ore output for the first six months compared to the same time a year ago. 

During January to June, nickel ore sales came to 9.68 million wet metric tons (WMT). The company said the value of its nickel ore shipment declined to P7.46 billion, compared from P8.93 billion in the same period a year ago due to lower selling prices. 

Nickel Asia is the largest producer of lateritic nickel ore in the Philippines and operates a number of mines in the country.
