Print[Ferro-Alloys.com] Reuters reported that First Quantum Minerals was planning to invest USD 275 million (ZAR 2.4 billion) in a new nickel mine in Zambia.
Resource optimisation manager John Gladston said that the Enterprise nickel project was the second of three mines planned by First Quantum in Zambia and jointly known as Trident.
Mr Gladston said that the mine would produce an average of 38 000 tonne of nickel in concentrate annually with scope to increase to 60 000 tonne when market conditions allowed. Enterprise is located 12km north of First Quantum’s Sentinel copper mine.
