[Ferro-Alloys.com]Even though spotcobalt business has not picked up noticeably, prices have firmed. The reason is that cheap material is not readily available to traders. Producers reportedly are well sold. Several traders said they were having trouble finding cobalt at below $14 per lb. Some sales of off-grade Russian cobalt gave the impression prices were retreating, said a trader, but last week, prices for 99.8% Co narrowed to $14.25-14.50 per lb compared to $13.90-14.50, and some traders believe prices could rise to $15 in the next month. Mid-grade cobalt sales were booked at slightly above $14.
