【Ferro-alloys.com】:TSX-V-listed AnorTech, which is pioneering the next generation of sustainable materials from anorthosite (aluminium calcium silicate), has announced it will collaborate with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to develop next-generation alumina-based catalysts for efficient carbon capture, using AnorTech's sustainable alumina.

AnorTech owns 100% of the Gronne Bjerg anorthosite project in Greenland, while it is advancing multiple product lines towards commercialisation including zero-waste smelter-grade alumina and high-purity alumina, zero-carbon refractory cement and advanced 3D-printable cement, and lunar construction materials using anorthosite-based concrete.

This new project between the council and Anortech builds on testing conducted in 2025, during which AnorTech supplied multiple grades of its sustainable alumina to the NRC for use in catalysts designed to capture CO2 and convert it to methane through hydrogenation.

AnorTech’s alumina samples were derived from its Gronne Bjerg anorthosite project in Greenland and produced in the Lakefield laboratory of SGS Canada.

AnorTech is jointly funding the project and will supply all alumina samples required for the testwork, while the company is confident that NRC's expertise will help unlock new applications for AnorTech's alumina.
