[Fellow]Evion Group (ASX:EVG) has outlined a multi-phase exploration program at the Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada, US, targeting acid-grade mineralisation.

【Ferro-alloys.com】:Evion Group (ASX:EVG) has outlined a multi-phase exploration program at the Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada, US, targeting acid-grade mineralisation.

The company plans a systematic approach to advance the newly identified north-west corridor toward drilling, beginning with a drone-based magnetic survey to test the Carp system at depth.

This program represents the first modern, integrated exploration of the Carp carbonate-replacement fluorspar system since the 1970s, targeting mineralisation across a footprint that extends beyond the historic open pits.

Near-term priorities include a magnetic survey to map structural architecture at depth and surface geochemical sampling to characterise the primary target zone.

Survey data will generate a structural interpretation and 3D inversion model to guide exploration.

Managing Director David Round says the work program is a ‘direct output of the geological review’ completed by the company.

“We now have a clear picture of the regional structural architecture, a new extensional target to the northwest, and a systematic plan to convert that geological framework into drill-ready targets,” Round says.

The staged program is designed to convert the project-scale geological framework into drill-ready targets across both the known Carp system and the new northwest extensional corridor.

Evion’s field team is currently operating on the project, with sampling activities focused on the newly identified extensional corridor to the north-west of the main Carp claim block.

The project comprises 59 unpatented lode claims covering approximately 493ha within the Viola Mining District, approximately 140km northeast of Las Vegas.

Evion secured an option to acquire the project in May 2026. The project has documented production of approximately 44,900 tonnes at an average grade of approximately 69% CaF? between 1958 and 1971, sold direct to Kaiser Steel Corporation without beneficiation.

Historic mining was confined to four shallow open pits, with independent verification of 2024 surface rock chip sampling confirming grades of up to 88.15% calcium fluoride across all four historically mined pit areas.

Fluorspar is designated a critical mineral by the US, the EU, Australia, Canada, and Japan. The United States imports 100% of its fluorspar requirements with no meaningful domestic production since 1990.
