A new railway line for transporting coals was put into operation in China recently.

Xinjiang, rich in coal and wind power resources, currently transmits electricity to 20 other Chinese provincial regions.

The event, organized by the China Textile Industry Federation, attracted the participation of more than 1,000 delegates from throughout the country.

Shanxi, a major coal-producing region in north China, has shut down 163 coal mines and eliminated 146.05 million tonnes of annual coal production capacity over the past five years.

Seven of China's major coal-producing groups have called on the sector to boost supply and keep prices within a reasonable range.

This use of nuclear energy for heating is expected to reduce the burning of 23,200 metric tons of coal annually.

The Three Gorges Dam generated 111.795 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2020.
