[导读]Whether the product structure is adjusted depends on the high-end production capacity of titanium alloy industry
The alloy made of titanium, iron, aluminum, vanadium, molybdenum and other metal elements has excellent physical and mechanical properties, such as high strength, high heat resistance and good corrosion resistance. It is widely used in chemical industry, marine engineering, transportation, medical treatment, construction, aerospace, military and other high-tech fields. It is a very important light structural material, of which aerospace is an important downstream application field.
According to the in-depth market research and investment forecast analysis report of titanium alloy industry in 2019-2023 issued by the Industrial Research Center, the global titanium alloy production capacity is mainly concentrated in China, the United States, Russia, Japan and other countries. In 2010, China surpassed the United States to become the world's largest titanium alloy producer. Titanium alloy products in the United States are mainly high-end products, mainly used in the field of aviation, while titanium alloy products in China are mainly concentrated in the middle and low-end fields, with low technology content, mainly used in the industrial field. Compared with the United States, China's titanium alloy industry is large but not strong, and its overall competitiveness is weak.
There are more than 160 titanium alloy production enterprises in China. There are fewer enterprises with better independent R & D capability, higher product technology content and better brand characteristics. Most of them are concentrated in the low-end field, especially in the low-end market, where there is excess capacity and fierce competition. China's petrochemical, aerospace, power, marine engineering and other industries continue to have strong demand for high-end titanium alloy products, and the market demand for titanium alloy is shifting from the low-end field to the high-end field. However, the number of high-end titanium alloy manufacturers in China is small and the market supply is insufficient. At present, only 10% of China's titanium alloy products are used in high-end fields, while 50% of America's titanium alloy products are used in high-end fields. Compared with developed countries, China's titanium alloy industry lags far behind. With the large-scale aircraft manufacturing in China and the continuous upgrading of military aircraft, the demand for titanium alloy in the aviation industry will continue to increase.
From the perspective of the import unit price of China's titanium alloy products in 2018, the import unit price is much higher than the export unit price, indicating that China's high-end titanium alloy products are in short supply and the market relies on imports. The industry needs to continue to improve its R & D and innovation capabilities, improve product performance, develop new functional products, and accelerate the pace of import substitution in the high-end titanium alloy market. In 2017, China's titanium alloy output was about 33 million tons, and the industry output decreased in 2018. Affected by weak market demand, high port inventory, economic situation is not optimistic and other factors, in 2018, large-scale enterprises in China's titanium alloy industry have a good operating rate, small-scale enterprises are careful to resume production, and the industry's overall output has declined. With the growth of market demand for high-end titanium alloy in China, the large-scale enterprises with high technology level have greater development potential in the future.
According to industry analysts, the national policy is paying more and more attention to high-tech industry, and the demand for high-end materials in domestic aerospace, shipping, marine engineering, transportation, military and other fields is growing. The production strategy of high-end titanium alloy is of great significance. It is an inevitable trend for titanium alloy industry to adjust product structure and transfer to high-end fields. Therefore, the technical requirements of titanium alloy industry for production enterprises will be higher and higher. Only by continuously improving the core competitiveness of enterprises can further development be achieved. In the future, the technical barriers for titanium alloy industry to enter will continue to improve.
